It's frustrating. I asked around and from what I can tell, the only actual comic publisher in the Emerald City is Fantagraphics, which only does artsier indy comics. I guess I don't really have anything against that, but on their site they explicitly state they don't do any fantasy or science fiction work. To add insult to injury, it says none of the actual comic creation happens on the worksite. Near as I can tell they're like a publisher for books in that people submit their work and hope it gets approved. So, working there wouldn't really get me the exact experience I'd hope for, and their internships are unpaid.

Dark Horse is down in Portland. Granted working for them would be sweet, but it's Oregon. Why rush to that place?

Anyhoo, been trying to get more and more drawing in. Finishing up some pages for this series of action sequences to just have in a portfolio. Need to write up an actual script for a few pages of dialogue/expression examples. Need to loosen up the overall feel of my figures. It's been real hit or miss lately getting weight distribution correct while maintaining the fluid look I like so much.
